Historically, making the "Big Leagues" meant you would soon be featured on a baseball card. However, that practice didn't apply in the Negro League. Several team's issued post-cards in limited numbers and Cuban card companies released baseball sets featuring Negro League players who played in the Cuban Winter League, but for the most part the vast majority of former Negro League players never appeared on a baseball card.
So, 60+ years later I have started a program to allow former Negro League Baseball players to get baseball cards - with your help of course!
In order to pay for the production expenses of the cards (that will be given to the player) We will be offering signed cards on occasion to offset the production costs - and to give the player's additional support
In addition to this program, we will also be adding permanent store items from time to time.
You may be wondering... Why baseball cards? Why now?
Having a baseball card serves as a sense of pride for a former Negro League player and they totally deserve them too! Though their baseball career may have ended many decades ago, being able to hand out a baseball card that features your accomplishments, your playing history, and a picture of yourself as a young ball player to friends, family, young athletes, and collectors is a great feeling.
